If finances are a potential barrier to enrolment, we encourage families to reach out to let us know about their needs so we can discuss what options are available.
Experiential Learning (EL) is an influential framework that describes how people learn through experience. EL empowers people towards unstoppable progress to reach their own potential and help others to reach theirs. Experiential Learning emphasizes learning through observation, reflection, problem-solving and creation while deepening the learning experience for the individual.
Experiential Learning could practically be weaved into an academic program by taking some of the learning outside of the classroom. This could be through traditional co-op programs, service learning, job shadowing, simulations, volunteering, etc.
Cornerstone Christian High School plans on implementing many off-site, experience-based learning opportunities for the students to allow them deeper understanding and to equip and empower them to choose a pathway best suited for them once they graduate CCHS.
We plan on offering an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Being accredited is an ongoing process that is not granted until after the school has been in operation and demonstrated that it is meeting the criteria set out by the provincial government. We hope to maintain the accreditation as long as the government requirements do not interfere with our mission, vision, and values.
