Meet our Staff

Mrs. Laman was most recently the Special Education Head at Oxford Reformed Christian School and has joined Cornerstone as our anaugeral principal! Mrs. Laman has earned a Master of Education in School Leadership from Dordt University and brings skills in both leadership and teaching that will be an asset as we develop quality academic and student programing. 

 Mrs. DeBoer currently teaches Gr. 7 at Jarvis Christian Community School and is teaching Physical Education at Cornerstone. She has a long history of supporting athletics and physical education and is passionate about helping students find their calling in Christ. 

 Having completed her degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, Mrs. Schuit felt called to teach at a local Christian school. She taught for five years before taking an extended maternity leave. Mrs. Schuit is excited to get back into the classroom and share her passion for learning - particularly French and English - with the students at Cornerstone. She has a heart that longs for students to deeply know and experience the love of God through their interactions and learning in the classroom. 

Mrs. Dykstra loves science!! She currently teaches science at Jarvis Christian Community School and is excited to teach science at Cornerstone. She is always finding ways to capture the unique nature of science education and you will often find her supporting other teachers as they teach their students science.

 Mrs. Slater has been a high school math teacher for many years and provides us with a wealth of knowledge and expertise! At Cornerstone, she provides math support to our students to assist them in accessing their coursework.
